The Historical Sabbath According to the Holy Bible
Friends and foes alike, it gets no more crystal clear than this concerning the Sabbath Day. Father God laid out expressly within the Holy Scriptures, that the Sabbath Day is the only day of the week in which Father God hallowed. God the Father set aside and hallowed no other day within the week except the Sabbath Day... period.
To add historical weight and biblical, supporting evidence to the established fact of the holy Sabbath Day, here are major holy scriptures that automatically delete any claims that would deem otherwise:
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy . 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath
day, and hallowed it.
Exodus (Chapter 20:8-11)
'Authorized' King James Version Bible
Cambridge Edition
6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
7 Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return ?
Malachi (Chapter 3:6-7)
'Authorized' King James Version Bible
Cambridge Edition
16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is
preached, and every man presseth into it.
17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass , than one tittle of the law to fail.
Gospel of Saint Luke (Chapter 16:16-17)
'Authorized' King James Version Bible
Cambridge Edition
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Gospel of Saint Matthew (Chapter 5:17-20)
'Authorized' King James Version Bible
Cambridge Edition

What Do Church Leaders and Global Denominations Have to Say About the Holy Sabbath?
The proper institution of the Sabbath Day and how it pertains to history and the holy scriptures may be shocking to some, others may be so caught up, within the brotherhood of man, that they are wantonly oblivious to even begin to recognize that the truth is light; while a minute contingent of truth-seeking souls will be open-hearted enough to extract the light of truth from this page while allowing Father God to guide them to higher ground.
The following, historically documented, quotes should, without any small doubt, engulf you to recognize or re-energize the faith that you already posses in the holy and inspired Word of God:
"We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church, in the Council of Laodicea (A.D. 364) transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday."
~The Convert's Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, (pg. 50) 3rd Edition
"You may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday... a day which we never sanctify."
~Roman Catholic Cardinal Gibbons
Faith of Our Fathers (pg.111)
"Let all the judges and town people, and the occupation of all trades rest on the venerable Day of the Sun."
~Constantine's Edict of 7 March 321 A.D.
Corpus Juris Civilis Cod., lib. 3, tit. 12, Lex. 3 (Appn. 9)
"The reason we observe the first day instead of the seventh is based on no positive command. One will search the scriptures in vain for authority for changing from the seventh day to the first."
~Clovis G. Chappell
Ten Rules for Living (pg. 61)
"There is nothing in scripture that requires us to keep Sunday rather than Saturday as a holy day."
~Harold Lindsell
Former Editor of Christianity Today
"
The Day of the Sun was first exalted and regarded as the Lord's Day by:
~Pope Sylvester
(314 - 337 A.D.)
"The Pope has power to change times, to abrogate laws and to dispense with all things, even the precepts of Christ."
~Decretal, de Tranlatic Episcop. (Appn. 8)
"Prove to me from the Bible alone that I am bound to keep Sunday holy. There is no such law in the Bible. It is a law of the Catholic Church alone. The Catholic Church says, by my divine power I abolish the Sabbath Day and command you to keep holy the first day of the week. And lo! The entire civilized world bows down in reverent obedience to the command of the Holy Catholic Church."
~Thomas Enright, CSSR
President Redemptorist College
Kansas City, Missouri
18, February, 1884
As you can clearly see for yourself, from the presentation of concise, historical facts and illuminating, biblical evidence... Sunday (the Day of the Sun) is not the day that Father God hallowed for his children... the apple of His eye.
I challenge each and every one of you to ask your pastor about the, "True Sabbath... Holy unto the Lord", found in the Holy Bible; and even if you do not attend church or have a church home, I encourage you also to search out the core truth for yourselves... you will be so grateful that you did.
