Congressional Black Caucus Sold Their Souls

by Mychal Massie
To assuage its members' desire to curry favor with their liberal handlers, the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) recently announced its opposition to Supreme Court nominee Judge Samuel Alito more than a month before his confirmation hearings.
While CBC members have every right to oppose Judge Alito, their amoral reasoning exposes what can be considered racial dishonesty and disloyalty.
Chairman Mel Watt (D-NC), in justifying the CBC's opposition to Judge Alito, cited concern about the nominee's opinions "in race cases where his decisions have disproportionately affected African-Americans." Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) further claimed Judge Alito presents "a special danger to people of color and to women."
While these are scurrilous arguments some may simply call lies, there are truly disproportionate numbers and factually undeniable dangers to women - specifically women of color - that CBC members and others willfully ignore.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are over 294 million living Americans. CBC members are the most vocal among them when it comes to whining that America (meaning all non-black Americans) owes blacks special dispensation for everything from slavery to a lack of change for the dryers at the corner laundromat.
CBC members complain that blacks are disproportionately incarcerated. They seemingly ignore the guilty verdicts for robbery, dope-dealing, murder, rape and mayhem charges unless the jury, police or judge is white. Then, it supposedly proves a racist conspiracy.
These Alito critics argue that our prison system disproportionately destroys the black family and reduces the black male population. They play the disproportionality race card with the same relish as presenting a royal flush in a poker game.
Even allowing that some of these allegations might bear some truth, why aren't these same people opposing abortion, intermarriage, poor health choices and behavior that leads to incarceration? These are disproportional problems affecting the black community and could someday literally marginalize our race. Consider the data from the U.S. Census Bureau:
  • In 1990, blacks comprised 12.1 percent (approximately 29.9 million persons); whites 80.3 percent (approximately 199.6 million) and Hispanics nine percent (approximately 22.3 million).
  • In 2000, blacks represented 12.3 percent (around 34.6 million); whites 75.1 percent (around 211.4 million) and Hispanics 12.5 percent (around 35.3 million).
  • Looking ahead 95 years to 2100, blacks are projected to be at 13 percent (74.3 million); whites at 40.3 percent (230.2 million) and Hispanics 33.3 percent (190.3 million).
Essentially, the black population is expected to stagnate in proportion to other racial groups. The alarming variable is that these projections rely on trends consistent with 1990 figures. The trends could be even more devastating since they can't incorporate trends regarding abortion, birth control, intermarriage and crime. The Census Bureau only looked at trends that directly affecting a population increase such as births.
Consider that black women comprised 12 percent of the female population yet had 36 percent of all abortions in 1999. Noted theologian and author Michael Novak, pointing out the devastating effect abortion has had on the growth of the black community, put the estimated 10 million blacks aborted since 1973 in perspective. "Abortion has swept through the black community like a scythe," said Novak, "cutting down every fourth member."
The magnitude of their treachery becomes unavoidable.
And CBC members are often reliable votes in favor of "abortion rights" and easy access to abortion.
Senator Barack Obama (D-IL), Chairman Watt, Delegate Norton, the remainder of the CBC, NAACP and others have virtually sold their souls to the very groups involved in this racial extermination and their ideological imprisonment. In selling their souls, they are selling out their people and the future of black Americans.
But they feign contempt for Alito, claiming the judge is a threat to blacks and women, when - in reality - it is the liberals they play the role of useful minstrels for are the threat.
A Supreme Court justice who faithfully interprets the Constitution is a threat to no one but anarchists and seditionists. The same cannot be said for those who willfully and knowingly sell their souls for less than Judas received in order to sit at the Barmecidal table of their exterminators.
